Making Small Talk wit Baudelaire
De serie ‘Making small talk with Baudelaire’ moet worden gezien als een conversatie, of beter een kroeggesprek, tussen twee kunstenaars over kunst. Naar aanleiding van de kunstkritieken die Charles Baudelaire rond 1850 schreef, ontstond een dialoog waarbij ik het soms met hem eens was en dan weer totaal oneens.

2011They are undeniably photos, and yet my work might be said to be almost non-photographic. This is because in photography the subject usually is very important. You can not photograph what is not there. To me the added value by the artist is much more important than the subject, in my case my models. Therefore I try to make the subject less important and reduce the model to a form, line, concept or theme. By imposing my vision on reality, I try to deny the truth.
