Het zijn duidelijk foto's en toch slaat bij het nader bekijken van Peter Day's werk werk de twijfel toe. De intrinsieke waarde van het fotografische beeld is voor hem belangrijker dan het onderwerp. Dit maakt zijn werk soms on-fotografisch. Hij reduceert zijn model tot vorm, lijn, concept of thema en vertelt zo zijn eigen, gekleurde verhaal.

2011They are undeniably photos, and yet my work might be said to be almost non-photographic. This is because in photography the subject usually is very important. You can not photograph what is not there. To me the added value by the artist is much more important than the subject, in my case my models. Therefore I try to make the subject less important and reduce the model to a form, line, concept or theme. By imposing my vision on reality, I try to deny the truth.
